Variable cell size

For each grid cell, teh following values may be provided (must be consitent!):

  • cell width in x direction
  • cell width in y direction
  • exact x-coordinate of the lower left corner
  • exact y-coordinate of the lower left corner
  • area of the cell (in m2)
 variable cellsize

Variable cell sizes can be used when using large cell which are geographically referenced or when the basin is very large, so that deviations of Cartesian against geographical coordinates have to be regarded.
